![]() Mr. Sivakumar
President Sometime in 1989, I realised that Indians in the Country were very pathetic when it came to business. We were not organised or represented in the serious sense and even allowed others to take advantage of our very own cultural based traditional businesses and become millionaires as we fold our hands and continue watch to yet another master who is simply in that position because he is economically better off than us and we forever are paid to work as employees- this was what mooted me to form the Johor Indian petty traders Association in 1989, Johor Indian Business Association (JIBA) in 1993 and a national movement the Malaysian Indian business association (MIBA) in 2000. My fervent hope soon is to link MIBA with the Global Indian Business Network to ensure that Indian Malaysians become real players in the economic field with dynamism, intelligence and bold with dealings in non-traditional products and services competing with the world business citizens, owning assets ,wealth and offering jobs to thousands locally and abroad. What needs to be changed is the Indian mindset. The need to be part of the continuous change in technology and the way we do business. There are a lot of talented Indians in business doing a lot of new and intelligent business but mostly individualistic and detached .What is important today is to join forces and synergise so that our mutual strength can reach out to the many young and old Indians who want to earn more and become successful. We talk so much about political will and hit out at others but have we ever thought of correcting ourselves and our weaknesses and pool our limited resources and strengthen to become a force even in being a minority in this country of ours.
